Well put, with a lot of great points. Like many awful trends, I suspect the vast majority of tatters got one because it made them feel like they were fitting in. Or just an impulse decision. Tats are also a way to "buy" a personality for ultra cheap. Still haven't seen one tat that doesn't look unnecessary and utter garbage.
