This movie would have worked better had they just committed to the racier aspect of the concept, and made a female Red Rocket. Instead I got the sense it was trying to straddle the line between 2000s-era American Pie and some feel-good mainstream drama.

A shame about Lawrence. I was hoping she'd go the Nicole Kidman route as she aged, doing smart dramas and occasional mainstream pleasers. Not Amy Schumer type stuff.

Still, it wouldn't surprise me if this film pulled in numbers just because it's the only big comedy out there in ages.
