The Outsider was overly long with a less than satisfying conclucion. Though that could be levied at many King works. Mr. Mercedes I remember having an unforgettable opening. Modern day King is hit or miss. I miss cokehead King, personally, but it's always nice to revisit his writing every once in a while. At least he tries, unlike many of his contemporaries.
