If Tinder Was a Country, It’d Be As Unequal as South Africa or Venezeula

Dating apps are crap. But how crap are they? A 23-year old historian puts it in perspective.

I’ve recently discovered Tom Bilyeu’s Impact Theory podcast. Bilyeu “debates the world’s most important ideas” with a lot of the popular guests that make the rounds everywhere. Your Peter Schiffs, Sam Harrises, Bret Weinsteins, etc.

Podcasts have become so mundane with boilerplate clickbait doomsdayism that 90% of them are hardly worth listening to anymore. However, once in a while, you do catch something actually interesting.

Such was the case with Bilyeu’s latestest interview with Rudyard Lynch, a 23-year-old historian who believes the U.S. will be in a civil war within five years (one which, spoiler alert, the right has an 80% chance of winning due to geographic advantages and military influence).

Shocking enough. Except that’s not the part that piqued my attention. It’s what Lynch had to say about the digital dating landscape around the 1:04 mark in the video.
