I thoughtlessly wrote this film off for years as a chick flick. And mainly because girls in my high school kept bringing it and Top Gun up as their go-to slumber party movies.

Then I finally saw it a few months ago and realized it's actually pretty awesome, and perhaps the only film where Keanu Reeves is out-cooled by another dude. You really can't top Swayze in his prime for charisma.

That my man Boss Cameron helped engineer some RPM into this is all the better. You can almsot feel some of that early Avatar Na'vi fighting-the-power in the surfers' creed and mentality.
