God article. The way credit and debt are forced onto people as a necessitiy and have been normalized is outrageous. College grads leave with an average of like $30k debt. People carry a balance near almost $10k in credit card debt on average. Don't even get me started on auto loans! $700 a month+ payments are the norm anymore. Insane.

I use one credit card to streamline my bills and subscriptions, and pay it off on the 6th of each month automatically. I also use it as a layer of identity and theft protection so no one can access my bank holdings. No rewards. No points. Don't care. I use a cc as a tool, that's it.
